Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My right knee is extremely painful. On Sept 2nd it started hurting. I went to my doctor on 9/6 she took x-rays and said nothing was broken that it was bursitis. She gave me a very painful shot in the knee and said that would help. On Sept 11th my knee started bleeding from the place where she gave me the shot. I went back to the doctor on 9/12, she ordered an ultrasound, which I have never been able to get the results from. The pain has not decreased and it is still swollen and warm to the touch.
In my opinion, you should not squat and avoid upstairs and prolong standing as much as you can.
Medicine advised to you is ok, but as you are having swelling in-spite of having medicine, you should stop taking that.
In addition also get RA factor quantitative, ESR, CRP levels checked and send me the report.
I think you can discuss with your orthopedic surgeon also, as he may change the medicine and advise you medicine like joint bond XXXXXXX tab.aceclofenac+thiocolchicoside 4mg twice a day.

How Can severe Knee Pain Be Treated?
Hello, In my opinion, you should not squat and avoid upstairs and prolong standing as much as you can. Once the pain subsides then you can be considered for intraarticular steroid or hyaluronic acid injection. Physiotherapy is a must for you. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care Regards, Dr Ivan R. Rommstein, General Surgeon
